Teenage conferences, 1963-1970
Scope and Contents
Documents concerning YWCA of the U.S.A. Y-Teen conferences including leadership institutes, statewide midwinter conferences, and the 1965 national conference. Y-Teen leadership institutes for youth and adults train participants in skills needed to work with youth and participate as leaders in Y-Teen clubs and conferences as part of the larger YWCA of the U.S.A. organization. Following reports from the western region of the YWCA of the U.S.A. is a summary report of all regional leadership institutes for the year 1963. Y-Teen state mid-winter conferences bring together Y-Teen members from across the state to share in discussions and fellowship. Programs, reports and conference notes summarize and assess those conferences. The national Y-Teen conference for 1965 brings together girls from around the country to unite under common goals and participate in discussions of issues affecting teenagers. In addition under the conference's theme, "Youth's Role in National and World Affairs," the conference connects the Y-Teens to the larger national and world movements of the YWCA. Proceedings record the content of the conference and a study guide for participants includes readings and exercises to prepare delegates for the conference.
