Teenage conferences, 1961

Scope and Contents

Documents concerning 1961 Y-Teen area summer conferences in the southern region of the YWCA of the U.S.A. Summer conferences are held in smaller state or regional sections within a region to unite Y-Teen members under common purpose, expose them to new members, provide opportunity to participate in discussion regarding issues of regional and national importance to teens and take part in the YWCA beyond their local association. These smaller regions in the South include GAF (Georgia, Alabama and Florida), Kentucky-Tennessee, Oklahoma-Arkansas, Virginia-Carolinas, and Texas-Louisiana. Documents include participant and leader conference evaluations, conference reports, program and materials sent to participants ahead of the conference. Individual conference materials are preceded by a report to the Field Foundation on conference integration in the South.
