Scope and Contents

Documents concerning Y-Teen area summer conferences, adult leadership of Y-Teens, eastern area seminars, and Y-Teen work camp projects with the U.S. Forest Service. Notes and reports document the planning and program of area Y-Teen conferences for the Western region of the YWCA of the U.S.A. in 1961 and 1962. Following these documents are correspondence and reports concerning program planning and resources for all area Y-Teen summer conferences 1961-1969. Y-Teen adult leadership materials include leadership handbooks and an essay on adult leaders of Y-Teens. Y-Teen Eastern seminars empower youth to identify and address important issues in their own communities. Reports, memorandums, lists of participants and notes document the seminars' planning, program and impact. Y-Teen summer work camp projects partner with the U.S. Forest Service to provide participants opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project in an outdoor setting. Planning documents, and reports of the 1966 Teton National Forest project describe and assess the program's aims and functions. Planning documents for 1967 and 1968 explore how to best work with the Forest Service and organize future work camps.
