Scope and Contents

Reports, correspondence and administrative records concerning YWCA of the U.S.A. associations in San Gabriel Valley and San Jose, California. The San Gabriel Valley association organizes work with women and girls throughout the valley. Visitation reports provide narrative assessments and descriptions of the needs of the women and girls and challenges and problems faced by the associations and make recommendations for further work. Studies are used to assess the performance of the associations, inform programming needs and gather information concerning the community. San Gabriel Valley studies include a study sponsored by the California Youth Authority concerning youth services in the Covina Area and a study of Pomona Valley to gather community information and informing the decision to organize YWCA activity in the area. The standards study of the San Jose association concerns the functions and operations of the association. Other documents include constitutions and governing documents, applications for affiliation, staff and volunteer lists and correspondence concerning the work of the associations.
