Scope and Contents

Reports, correspondence and administrative records concerning existing YWCA of the U.S.A. associations in Nebraska and inquires into the organization of new associations. Visitation reports describe and assess the association's program, leadership, activities, facilities and services. Other documents include constitutions and bylaws, lists of professional and volunteer leadership, association fact sheets, historical summaries and applications for affiliation. For those communities with emerging or no associations, visitations from field workers asses the community and any existing women's organizations and make recommendations for further developments. Local association files are preceded by a section of materials concerning the entire state of Nebraska. These materials include corporation statutes for the state, a survey of all national youth agencies in Nebraska and letters concerning cooperation with the YMCA in Nebraska. Atlantic and Avoca are filed and labeled as Nebraska towns but are in fact documents concerning those towns in Iowa.
