Scope and Contents

Studies of the YWCA of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and its communities and the collected policies and procedures of the association from 1950. The policies and procedures begin with an index to the documents and cover a range of topics including finance, race relations and interracial policies, personnel management, social action, use of facilities, union membership and community chest membership. Studies are used by the association to inform program planning, ensure the association meets national standards and maintain an awareness of the community they work in. In addition to evaluations of association program and standards, and community reports, the studies include the National Employed Officer Association case study of an industrial secretary whose contract was not renewed and a study of women wage earners by the Consumer's League of Western Pennsylvania.
