Scope and Contents
Documents concerning the administration, program and development of Iowa Town and Country YWCA, formerly the Iowa District YWCA, and the YWCA of Marshalltown in addition to documents concerning the affiliation, program and eventual disaffiliation of the YWCA of Keokuk. Documents are arranged alphabetically by city or town with further topical and form designations on the microfilm under Iowa Town and Country and Marshaltown. The administration and development of the associations is documented in basic standards reports, national certification documents, constitutions, and bylaws. Visitation reports include program descriptions, reports of challenges and successes, and discussion of personnel and management need. Additional materials may include additional correspondence and reports concerning association programs, services and operations.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
