Scope and Contents
Documents concerning the administration, program and development of YWCA of the U.S.A. associations in Kalamazoo and Lansing, Michigan in addition to documents concerning development of associations or registered clubs in Lake Orion, Mass, Midland, and Mount Clemens. Documents are arranged alphabetically by city or town with further topical and form designations on the microfilm for Kalamazoo and Lansing. The administration and development of the associations is documented in basic standards reports, national certification documents, constitutions, and bylaws. Visitation reports include program descriptions, reports of challenges and successes, and discussion of personnel and management need.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
