Biographical Note

"The Farm" was founded in the mid-1980s. It is a self-supporting women's artist colony run by Kate Millett. Women apply to work at The Farm, a successful Christmas tree venture, in exchange for room, board and studio space.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

These records were a gift of Kate Millett in 1998, with the additional gift of the sculpture in 2010.

Appraisal

The freestanding two-piece sculpture created by Kate Millett (1964-1965) was transferred to the Kate Millett Studio in September 2023.
