This collection consists of materials about women and philanthropy gathered by Eleanor Brilliant, including annual reports, surveys, pamphlets, and press releases for local, state and national women's philanthropic agencies including the Women's Funding Network.

Biographical Note

Eleanor Brilliant is a professor emeritus who spent the bulk of her career (1986-2006) at the Rutgers School of Social Work where she was also a member of the women's studies faculty. Brilliant's research has focused on social services and the nonprofit sector as well as women's funds and foundations as agents of social change.

Between September 2022 and February 2023, Smith College Special Collections renumbered many boxes to eliminate duplicate numbers within collections in order to improve researcher experience. A full crosswalk of old to new numbers is available.
