Nuremberg Chronicle conservation collection
Scope and Contents
Contains documentation of the conservation of Hartmann Schedel's "Nuremberg Chronicle" (German edition, 1493) by Barbara Blumenthal and Daniel Gehnrich in summer 2000-summer 2001. The collection includes: Folder 1: photocopies of manuscript inscriptions and text at the front of the book; Folder 2: scraps removed from the book, detritus removed from the book gutters, and an original headband; Folder 3: photographic 35 mm. negatives and prints of the conservation process, taken by Blumenthal; and Folder 4: box of 35 mm. slides of the conservation process (a subset of these is arranged for presentation purposes).
