032. Smith College presidents

The Elizabeth Morrow personal papers contain biographical material, correspondence, memorials, photographs, publications, and speeches, as well as an unpublished book of verse produced as a tribute for Morrow.

Elizabeth Cutter Morrow served as Smith's acting president. She was also a Smith alumna, a teacher, author, volunteer, and trustee. This collection contains correspondence, news clippings, photographs, presidential documents, speeches, reports and other materials. Correspondents include the Neilson family and the Davis family.

Carol T. Christ served as the 10th president of Smith College from 2002 to 2013. These files consist of her daily calendar pages from 2003 to 2009, as well as materials regarding her tenure on the Academy of Music Board of Trustees.

Kathleen McCartney is the 11th president of Smith College. She was installed on October 19, 2013. These files consist of planning and other printed materials pertaining to her Inauguration as well as a file of letters sent to President McCartey in reaction to the cancellation of Christine Legarde as Smith's 2014 commencement speaker.

Marion LeRoy Burton was the second president of Smith College and later president of the University of Minnesota and the University of Michigan. This collection contains correspondence, publications, sermons, photographs, and press articles.

The Office of the President records contain general departmental files, including correspondence and memos, minutes, building and campus planning files, strategic planning material, appointment letters, and committee material.
