The Smith Alumnae Quarterly records contain records from the magazine's editors and staff relating to the magazine's creation and publication and the conception and writing of articles. Materials include office and editor files, correspondence, editorial board minutes, source material for articles, issues of the magazine, photographs, artwork, and comics.

Language of Materials
Smith Alumnae Quarterly is the alumnae magazine of Smith College. The collections contains files and records from the magazine's editors and staff relating to its creation and publication, the conception and writing of articles, and photographs and artwork.
This collection has been added to over time in multiple "accessions." An accession is a group of materials received from the same source at approximately the same time. Note that in most cases, container numbers start over at 1 with each new accession.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Most material transferred from the Alumnae Association. Some material is from other sources.
Digital copies of early issues of the SAQ (1909-1933) were downloaded from the Internet Archive and backed up to a networked server for preservation.
Starting in September 2022, Smith College Special Collections will be renumbering many boxes to eliminate duplicate numbers within collections in order to improve researcher experience. A full crosswalk of old to new numbers is available.
