Scope and Contents

The distinguished visitors files contain correspondence, memorabilia, newspaper clippings, press releases and photographs documenting the visits of distinguished persons to Smith College since its founding in 1871. The material ranges in date from 1848 to the present, with the bulk of the collection falling between 1888 and the present.
