Especially well documented is the emergence of Women's Studies as a viable academic field, as well as the opening up of American Studies and cultural anthropology.
Family Diversity Projects records
The Family Diversity Projects records date from 1993 to 2010 and document the organization's work in designing exhibits and authoring books that portray gay and lesbian families, multiracial families, families suffering from mental illnesses, people with disabilities, and transgender people.

Subject files include abortion; sterilization; other women's health issues; and the anti-abortion movement.

The records document the work of this welfare rights organization based in the Boston area, as well as work done by the grassroots organization Advocacy for Resources for Modern Survival (ARMS). Especially well-documented is co-founder Dottie Stevens' 1990 Massachusetts gubernatorial campaign.
Susan Rosenberg papers

Papers are primarily associated with her sixteen years in prison (1984-2001) and include correspondence, legal documents, photographs, poetry and essays written by Rosenberg, course work, her Master's thesis, and syllabi for courses she taught while incarcerated. Of particular interest are the personal journals she kept during her time in prison.
