Oral History Project documenting the persistence and diversity of organizing for women in the United States. Narrators include labor, peace, and anti-racism activists; artists and writers; lesbian rights advocates; grassroots anti-violence and anti-poverty organizers; and women of color reproductive justice leaders. Interviews cover childhood, personal life, and political work. Most oral histories consist of audiovisual recordings and transcripts, plus some background information.
Abortion rights advocacy group. Records contain correspondence, photographs, fundraieing and public relations materials, reports, conference materials, printed materials, and audiovisual materials. Records document the organization's mission to preserve abortion rights by way of media campaigns and endorsing pro-choice candidates for political office.
Collection consists mostly of oral histories conducted and collected by Morin of women ambassadors and state department employees, conducted in 1984, for her book, Her Excellency (1995). "The Farm" was founded in the mid-1980s. It is a self-supporting women's artist colony run by Kate Millett. Women apply to work at The Farm, a successful Christmas tree venture, in exchange for room, board and studio space. Records include applications, printed material, financial records. The collection also includes unpublished writings, photographs, audio and visual tapes, and slides.
