The publishing firm of Payson and Clarke was founded by William Farquhar Payson and James L. Clarke in New York in 1924. The collection contains printed ephemera, including book prospectuses, announcements, proof copies of pages and book covers and dust jackets, stationery, letterheads, handwritten notes, typescripts of book advertisement copy, paper samples, and layout sketches (including four original drawings).
