Collection consists primarily of the courtship letters of Mary Isabel Ellis and Austin Slausen Basten, who married in 1912, as well as the former's diaries from 1905 through 1922 and part of 1926. There is also correspondence that post-dates the marriage and some letters from friends and other family members, as well as photographs, scrapbooks, memorabilia, writings, and biographical information.
Homemaker; Physician. Correspondence of Carl. W. Rosenbloom, M.D. and his fiancee (later his wife), Lena Berinstein, written while Carl pursued further medical training in Europe and Lena remained in Holyoke, Massachusetts. There are also a few photographs (reproductions).

The Townsend-O'Brien-Hoffheimer Family papers consists primarily of correspondence between these three generations of women and other family; diaries of Smith College years for both mother and daughter.
