Women's advocacy group. The records document the daily activities of a feminist non-prift research and advocacy group. Major topics covered: women's rights, women's health, reproductive rights, women of color, affirmative action, and domestic violence.

The collection contains the business records of the Committee on Women, Population,& the Environment (CWPE), a multi-racial alliance that works on the local, regional, national, and international levels to oppose population control policies that blame overpopulation for poverty, hunger, environmental degradation and political volatility.

The Inter-American Commission of Women Records primarily consists of bulletins, publications, and reports (many in Spanish), as well as correspondence, clippings, photographs, and reports. The bulk of the materials are dated between 1933 and 1959.

Collection consists of diaries, mostly of the "line-a-day" variety, kept by Katherine Browning, pianist and teacher, from the age of 17 until her 69th year (with a few gaps). Also included are two diaries of her adopted daughter, Marian (1910 and 1928). Additions include correspondence, photographs, tintypes, family history notes, and miscellaneous items related to the Browning and Scurrah families.

The Sorosis records include by-laws, constitutions, minutes, membership lists, yearbooks, programs, reports, histories, speeches, writings, clippings, subject files, memorabilia, publications, printed material, and scrapbooks. The Records document the club's advocacy of temperance, prison reform, and peace, as well as their programs in art, drama, education, and music.
