The collection contains the business records of the Committee on Women, Population,& the Environment (CWPE), a multi-racial alliance that works on the local, regional, national, and international levels to oppose population control policies that blame overpopulation for poverty, hunger, environmental degradation and political volatility.

Abstract Founded in 1993 by a group of Western Massachusetts women concerned about issues related to breast cancer, the Pioneer Valley Chapter was associated with the statewide organization, the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC), until 1996 and in 2000 re-organized as the Cancer Connection which is still serving the Pioneer Valley in 2019.
