Photographs from the second YWCA of the USA conference on outdoor recreation and convservation held at the Grand Tetons National Park. Photographs include images of the park, the Gros Ventre Slide interpretive trail ceremonies, delegates, leaders, and hikes. At least one of the photographs has 1964 written in pencil on the back and may refer to the first conservation conference.

Abstract

This collection contains material relating to the 2001 "Harriman Expedition Retraced: A Century of Change" project designed and executed by Thomas Litwin, Ph.D, who taught biology and environmental conservation at Smith College from 1989 to 2013. The project recreated railway magnate Edward Henry Harriman’s 1899 scientific expedition to Alaska.
