Documents concerning the YWCA of the U.S.A. work with unemployed groups and unemployment relief. Minutes and reports of conferences document the YWCA's efforts in unemployment relief, discuss the role of religion and other agencies, summarize findings, and provide an overview of the National Board's activities in matters of unemployment during the Depression. Other materials address various issues resulting from unemployment including the risk of deportation faced by immigrants.

Players' House provided housing and home-like accommodations for actresses. The Industrial War Service Center in Bloomfield served women employed in nearby industry during the war providing leisure and food service as part of their program.
