YWCA overseas official. Material reflects a small portion of Knights' professional life. Includes photographs (YWCA), information generated by the YWCA, tributes given at her memorial service, and reminiscences she wrote of her service in Uruguay. Much of the correspondence is in Spanish, although there are brief translations attached to some of the letters.
Issues of the twice yearly YWCA publication, "The Health Education Bulletin". Each issue addresses health issues of the time, suggests programming, makes announcements and provides program resources. In addition, the bulletins address social and physical wellness and make recommendations for health education in all areas.
Reports of health education conventions and institutes convey health education focuses of the times, recommend activities, summarize lectures, and make announcements. Health education includes sex education, recreation activities, physical fitness, weight and appearance, mental well-being, and social health. Institutes provide training for health education secretaries in the YWCA of the U.S.A.
International athletic association. The International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women Records at Smith represent the U.S. branch of the organization. The collection includes histories, including information about Dorothy Ainsworth; documents pertaining to various IAPESGW congresses and conventions; and IAPESGW bulletins, newsletters, and reports.
