Overview Pat Schneider, a poet, author and writing teacher, is founder of Amherst Writers and Artists in Amherst, Massachusetts. Her papers include published and unpublished plays, autobiographical works, essays, Schneider's book, Writing Alone and With Others (2003), and a booklet of her poetry, The Patience of Ordinary Things (2003).
