Azalia Emma Peet papers
Missionary and teacher. The Azalia Peet papers consist of photographs, correspondence, memorabilia, and speeches. Of particular interest in the collection diaries and letters written by Peet from Japan, and from the Japanese American internment camps in the United States during World War II. Her early diaries reflect her home life and her personal struggle to come to terms with her vocation.

The International Institute for Girls in Spain evolved out of a school founded by a Protestant missionary in Santander, Spain, in 1877. The Institute was incorporated in Massachusetts in 1892 as a non-denominational Christian organization "for the purpose of establishing and maintaining an institution for the education of girls in Spain." The collection contains correspondence, memorabilia, minutes, reports, photographs, and publications.

Pearce family papers
The papers represent the extended Pearce/Brown family involved in education in rural United States and missionary and education work at the Sidon Female Seminary in Syria and elswhere in the Middle East, circa 1880s-1930s. Also represented are Eleanor I. Burns, founder of the American College for Girls in Istanbul; Mary Mills Patrick, founder of Constantinople Women's College; and Alice Lloyd, founder of Caney Junior College in Kentucky.

Ruth V. Hemenway papers
Medical missionary, teacher, and physician. Twenty diaries provide a detailed record of the eighteen years Hemenway spent as a medical missionary in China. They describe medical and surgical cases, customs and rural culture, and the political upheaval of pre-WWII China. The diaries are rich with poignant and perceptive pictures of Chinese village life, of modernized urban life, and China during wartime. The diaries also reflect her own personal struggle with isolation and discrimination.
Sarah Tinsley Rees papers
Missionary and Red Cross worker. Rees worked as a missionary in Japan and Russia, and as a nurse's aid during World War I. Correspondence includes her many letters from Japan and Siberia, plus letters from her family in the U.S. to Rees. Other materials include memorabilia and photographs.
