International cooperation

Homemaker. Privately printed diary doumenting her life during the period her husband was in public service, first in Congress, then as U.S. ambassador to Berlin (1922-25) and to London (1925-29), and his return to Washington (1929-41).

The Adrienne Germain papers contain the working papers of Adrienne Germain, a champion for women's health and human rights in low-income countries, including essays, research materials, and correspondence related to her work with the Ford Foundation and the International Women's Health Coalition.

Missionary and teacher. The Azalia Peet papers consist of photographs, correspondence, memorabilia, and speeches. Of particular interest in the collection diaries and letters written by Peet from Japan, and from the Japanese American internment camps in the United States during World War II. Her early diaries reflect her home life and her personal struggle to come to terms with her vocation.

The Canadian-American Women's Committee was founded as an international organization with the aim of developing appreciation and cooperation between the two countries through increased knowledge. Records of the American Section and the Connecticut Branch include material on conferences, field study trips, affiliation with the National Council of Women, student exchanges, and administrative records.

Diplomat. This small collection documents Harvey's service with the Department of State, 1930-1952. Materials include correspondence, Department of State memoranda, photographs, one speech (in French), and two articles.

YWCA executive and overseas official. The Eldri Dieson Papers consist of biographical materials, correspondence, diaries, memorabilia, newspaper clippings, photographs, research notes, and scrapbooks primarily related to Dieson's work for the YWCA of the U.S.A. The bulk of the papers focus on Dieson's work for the YWCA's Foreign Division in Japan and in Chile.

YWCA Overseas Secretary. Papers consist primarily of letters to family from her time working as YWCA overseas secretary in Turkey. The letters detail Pim's work; Turkish social customs; trips in Turkey, Greece, and Western Europe; and her views on current political situations in the United States and the Middle East, including the 1963 attempted coup d'etat in Turkey. Includes photographs.

Journalist; Editor; Trustee, State University of New York; YWCA official; and International relations specialist. Papers include an scrapbooks; oral history; correspondence; photographs and clippings; travel files from trips to Asia, Europe, Australia, and China; speeches and writings; and files pertaining to organizations concerned with international relations, education, and international development, among them the Young Women's Christion Association and SUNY.
